DOZER EDGES AND BLADES SYSTEM

2MT DOZER EDGE & CAST END BIT SYSTEM DELIVERS 103% INCREASE IN SERVICE LIFE.

An open cut gold mine in WA, Australia working in hard abrasive conditions were experiencing unplanned downtime events due to G.E.T related downtime, leading to reduced availability for the contract miner. The mine owner required a cutting edge and end bit system suited to their hard dig conditions able to provide increased wear life for the application, as well assisting the contract miner improve machine availability and unplanned GET downtime events.

2MT Mining Products put forward a six-month trial proposal, aiming to increase G.E.T wear life, align G.E.T changes to planned service intervals & improve overall machine availability through reduced G.E.T downtime. Over the six-month trial period, the 2MT Edge & End Bit system provided the reliability of zero lost G.E.T events, additionally edge turn & replacements were moved to 500/1000-hour service intervals due to a wear life increase of up to 103%. The performance increase resulted in a 12% increase in machine availability.

Site Maintenance personnel put forward the demonstrated cost savings to the Production Superintendents who backed the decision to move to 2MT Edges & Blades on their four machine D10T Dozer Fleet.
